Dr Hayrynen: do you know anything about the Maritime Insurance Association of Finland? I ran across this in a newspaper account of the wreck of a Russian vessel, the YARKAND, between Mobile Bay and Pensacola, Florida, in 1901; in a subsequent legal battle, one of the litigants in US District Court was the above named insurance association; I have made several inquiries to people in Finland, but I fear a language barrier prevents a response, but perhaps not; in any case, if you have any knowledge of this insurance group, please advise; thanks much, James McSwain MCSWAIN@acd.tusk.edu
