H-verkkolaisille: olen siivoamassa vanhaa saehkoepostia, jolloin loeysin taemaen, joka oli tullut toisen verkon (medieval religion) kautta. Ehkae joku muukin haluaisi vastata haenelle, kirjoitin itse silloin lyhyesti. Vai onko taessae verkossa ollenkaan esihistorian, antiikin, keskiajan tai muiden 'vanhojen aikojen' tutkijoita mukana? Terveisin, Christian Kroetzl

I am interested in a variety of religious subjects including the Christian conversion and the earlier religions of Europe, Scandinavia, and the Finno-Ugric areas. I have recently completed my Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Archaeological Studies at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) on the topic of ritual and symbolism in late Iron Age Finnish burials. This time period (8th-13th centuries AD) corresponds to the Viking and early medieval periods elsewhere and overlaps with the beginning of the Finnish conversion period when Christian influences were arriving from both east and west. I have joined the list to learn more about the conversion period in Europe which I hope to analyze in greater detail with reference to Finland.
