Seminar on Multiculturalism starts again on January 14th. During the spring semester we are meeting at Tuesdays at 14-16 in seminar room Tempo, which is in Minerva building (2nd floor), Kaivokatu 12 (Campus Map: T52, http://www3.utu.fi/kartta/indexen.html).
The Seminar on Multiculturalism is intended for researchers and students of history, sociology, and other fields of study. The seminar will discuss the concept of multiculturalism as well as its policies and practices, as carried on in various social and cultural environments.
The seminar starts with an introductory session and then continues with student presentations. Each seminar participant selects a topic for writing a research plan on their own field of study, which will be deepened further in the seminar meetings. Students have also the option of writing a full research paper in the course.
Papers in progress as well as finished papers are discussed on the seminar website (Moodle2). Students may register for the seminar at https://moodle2.utu.fi/ after having contacted project coordinator Essi Huuhka at eshuuh(at)utu.fi, whom you can also ask for more information.
Welcome!
